Accessing the Tensor Cluster

The grant under which the Tensor Cluster was purchased stipulates that the principal investigators are to receive 80% of the computing resources. The PI's as well as their postdocs and graduate students will be granted access by filling out an online form. Users must be employees of Texas A&M University; remote collaborators are not eligible for accounts on the cluster. It is the responsibility of the PI to notify the system administrators when a user's employment is terminated or when a visitor leaves the university so that their accounts can be removed.

Tensor cluster accounts must be renewed at the beginning of each school year. An e-mail will be sent to all users requesting an acknowledgement of their desire to continue to use the cluster as well as requesting a brief update of their research. Failure to renew an account will result in the account being closed and the data being destroyed.

The disposition of the remaining 20% of the resources remains under consideration. One possible use would be to enable the cluster for grid computing. Once a decision is made regarding the 20% it will be posted on this page.
